Remember not to Forget =)

How did we all get so busy! I think I had it right as a kid...; I was never in a hurry to "grow up", adults just didn't seem like happy people to me. I enjoyed playing with my friends and my toys, having practically everything done for me, taking family trips, eating tons of candy.. I felt like "man, it doesn't be any better than this!" And when school was out for the summer... what a joy!!! But, if we can learn to really live in the moment, and really grasp the truth that only what we have in the present is reality (therefore we can "create" our future), and really wrap our brains around the idea that it's a waste of time and energy to worry about things we can or cannot change (and everything falls in to one category or the other) - then I think we can once again begin to enjoy what we enjoyed about life as innocent children... LIVING IT! What a noble idea!

My blogs are about us using and appreciating our gifts. When I sit down to draw or paint, I get such enjoyment out of the creative process...so, why have I not managed to be more creatively productive over the past few weeks when such pleasure and joy are the results? I think, in fact I know the answer is forgetfulness. The number one cause of pain and suffering is forgetfulness! We need to remember that we are amazing creations with unlimited possibilities and, in my opinion, the only time we demonstrate this truth is when we "still" ourselves. It is only when I "still" myself that I can sit down and really get into the creative process; the world around me ceases to exist and it's as if each stroke of the pencil (pen or brush) defines that moment in time. When I think of the dynamics of that "space" it's just amazing to me; there are no words to describe it. I imagine it's the same for other artists (whether it's carpentry, singing, dancing, organizing, etc.) when getting into what one is passionate about... now that's LIVING.

If you've found yourself putting LIFE on the back burner (this is what happens when we stumble and fall back  on to the "Rat Race" track), don't beat yourself up. Start a habit of celebrating the small victories (there are many); this will encourage you to create more victorious moments (because celebrating is feels good). When we are truly LIVING LIFE in this zone, ups and downs don't exist; only lessons and victories. Yeah, I like that! Now, here's a HUG for a job well done!

Thanks for reading! Now I'm going to celebrate completing my blog today.

PS. I previously had written three entirely different paragraphs (except for the opening) and just before I was ready to publish, the web browser froze and I lost it all. Everything happens for a reason!
